The skin produces its own Vitamin D3 through the exposure to sunlight, whereby the sun’s UVB rays converts a skin precursor to Vitamin D3. However, certain factors like the UV Index, sun exposure time, skin exposure and melanin levels, affect its production.

Vitamin K2

Vitamin K2, or menaquinone, is an essential fat-soluble vitamin necessary for various bodily functions, especially blood clotting and bone health. It impacts both bone health and cardiovascular health, as it assists the body in activating proteins that help manage calcium binding in bones and other tissues.

  • Vitamin K2 (MK-7) activates a protein that directs calcium away from the arteries into bone by activating osteocalcin.
  • Vitamin K2 helps maintain flexible arteries.
  • Vitamin K2 contributes to normal cytokine level and can assist in controlling inflammation.
